Em Siegel (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose relationship with clay began at age 6. Since 2016, they have been working with clay to design and create both functional and expressive work.

Em's practice is rooted in the contemporary and draws inspiration from the richness of everyday life from patterns found in nature to the shapes of urban landscapes. Their work is playful yet restrained, balancing a minimalist sensibility with a love of experimentation.

A background in graphic design informs Em’s aesthetic, while design thinking brings deep attention to how objects are experienced. Em's functional wares elevate everyday rituals, transforming the ordinary into something meaningful.

In addition to functional work, Em experiments with larger abstract forms and sculptures that reflect on their lived experience and intersections of identity.

Em’s work has been exhibited at SOMArts, COL Gallery and The Faight Gallery in San Francisco, and lives in homes around the world.
